We are hiring a Materials Manager to join our team at our Houston area site.
This position is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of the company's, inventory, receiving, shipping, planning and ERP/MRP operations. Success is realized by guiding the materials organization to meet and improve performance on inventory control and accuracy, product shipment planning capability and financial goals.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
Hire, train, and manage personnel in the Inventory Control, Receiving, and Shipping Departments.
Provide leadership essential to drive continuous improvement in all materials activities.
Communicate with manufacturing management to ensure that inventory of parts meet production needs.
Review and approve purchases up to specified dollar ceiling.
Monitor ERP/MRP system to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods.
Develop systems and procedures ensuring continuity in the processing of materials purchased, received, maintained in inventory, used in manufacturing and shipped.
Develop annual objectives in concert with department and company goals.
Generate effective communications, good relations, and a positive image with coworkers, promoting courtesy, objectivity, teamwork and fairness.
Participate as needed with corporate auditors for reviews of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA Business, Engineering or equivalent experience
2-3 years relevant leadership experience.
Sufficient software application proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ERP/MRP software (QAD, SAP or similar), Document Control systems (Qumas) and Report Writing software (CorVu, ClearQuest).
Materials knowledge including but not limited to inventory / work-in-process principles, cycle counts, production/material scheduling/planning.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a team environment.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years of experience in the Medical Device industry or another FDA regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of FDA, DEKRA and ISO regulations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Clear Lake, TX (Southeast Houston Area).
Compensation: The target annual salary ranges from $90,000 - 105,000 plus annual bonus. Salary will be awarded based on experience.
Travel: This position may require occasional business travel.
